Scientific Foundation

MISTI® is built on more than a decade of research and peer reviewed work in surface acoustic wave aerosolisation. The technology has been developed within a research and commercialisation ecosystem that includes institutions and programmes such as the University of Melbourne, the Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication, ANFF, ANDHealth, MTPConnect and the Medical Device Partnering Program.

Product Pathway

MedMISTI is the first real world application of the platform: a wearable, breath actuated smart inhalation system designed for more usable and visible respiratory care.

The system includes a liquid cartridge, a transducer that turns liquid into breathable mist, and a reusable wearable face mask.

Commercial Pathway

MISTI’s strategy includes regulatory pathway planning, distribution partnership development, pharmaceutical co-development opportunities and future global commercial pathways. The strategic material identifies goals such as securing 1 to 2 pharmaceutical co-development partnerships, 2 to 3 distribution partnerships and a pathway towards FDA device planning.
